04gsNA 2004 Eclipse RS Turbo

Hello guys I am Dave. I primarily post over at www.club3g.com being I own a 3g eclipse. The main reason I made an account here is because of the vast performance knowledge over here. Our cars share many parts so I figured its only best to research on a forum that only caters to the performance oriented

I personally never plan to buy an evo. I do however plan on swapping your cylinder head onto my 4g64 2.4 motor for a nice stroker. I am researching and making a list for attempting the AWD swap over to my car.

My 2004 Eclipse has come along way. In the Brake department it has not much to offer because I am currently looking for a nice cheap set of evo brembo's to swap on her Suspension is where it at. I have megan racing coilovers, autopower roll bar, megan toe adjustments and also 24mm rear sway bars and a 22 up front. The car is totally gutted and thats how I plan to keep her

The motor has an AAI turbo manifold and downpipe, T3T4 .63 AR turbo, 560cc evo8 injectors, evo fuel rail, Walbaro fuel pump, Greddy type RS blow off valve, Ultimate racing intercooler pipes, GM MAFT, Hallman in cab boost controller, prosport gauges, evo8 ecu which has been flashed by me, AEM uego, Greddy turbo timer, battery relocated to trunk, NX Intercooler chiller bar, with a Zex wet shot for additional fun. welcome me abroad I am pretty knowledgeable and still willing to learn fella's. Im deff willing to go to meets too BTW.

Wow....you sure do have a lot of pics. I'm sorry Dave, but no matter how many swaps you do with your Eclipse, it will never compare to an Evo. All the way from the handling/steering and all the way to how the Evo makes a connection with the driver....the Evo is just in a league of its own.

only 5k invested with all the parts so far. I am pretty happy for a car that cost 5k 3 years ago and 5k invested. 10k total and its a pretty decent car.

What is the purpose on the build of the car? Auto-X? Road racing? Drag racing? And what information you need? A lot of members here are actually from 1g and 2g, and also some do 4G64 swaps so they may have a lot of knowledge in that aspect.

Building an AWD drivetrain from the scratch is not easy nor cheap. If your ultimate goal is owning a car like 1g/2g AWD 4G63T or the evo, you are better off keeping your current 3g and buy a 2nd car. However if your goal is to own a 3g with AWD then good luck to you.

Its going to be my road race car and also ultimate street car. The AWD swap sounds prety easy. Your tranny bolts to my block. I am going to use an evo8 rear end. and just have a custom driveshaft made.

Ah ok, but can you get ECU and ACD chip to work with that set up though? You may need different axles as well.
