couple new guy questions - input needed
hey guys, got a few wuick questions for ya.
first some background info. my evo has about 80k on the clock, timing chain done around 40k. to be honest, i dont think the last owner performed maintenance on a regular basis or as often as he shoudl have. this is just a hunch.
1) my evo is throwing a random misfire code. i know it can be caused by a number of things from bad egrs or vaccuum leaks down to ****ty spark or even fuel.
is this a common problem with evo's or just a wear and tear thing? (for stuff like the above to happen) - im fairly certain it will need new coils and wires since they are not up to par.
2) on star up, idle drops down to abut 500 rpm and struggles/hunts a tad. initial guess is tps or iac but wont know forsure till i can get more into it.
again, is the failure of either two a common evo problem, or more likely another wear and tear issue?
i only ask because im completely new to mitsu's, having come from the nissan camp where i was for many many years. after a while, you start to realize that certain things are just problematic.
thanks guys
