Gee I wonder how long this thread would last

You have a bad credit and your income is not sufficient

You are 18 but you cannot wait

You are trying to go through all the trouble to buy an Evo with GT35R as a daily, is the only purpose to show off to your friends?

The finance industry had suffered enough with bad credits, they are not going to have that shady ordeal with you

There are many things in the world that are being sold at below market average and some of them are far rarer than an Evo IX with GT35R, but not everyone is able to afford the 'great opportunity'

The best bet would be to pester your dad as you are doing now until he gives in, or you can try for loansharks but don't be surprised if some gunmen come into your house after you skip some payments

It sounds like your forum handle 'EvolutionGT35R' would stay as a dream for quite awhile

No my income is sufficient its that i cant get it myself, therefore im putting my father as primary and i would be paying.... and i am not showing it off to nobody....this car has been my dream car......just because to others "oh look an evo let me show off and say its mine" no...thats not the case...i always wanted this car and i am not giving up, with my income ill have no problem paying for the car.....just because someone has bad credit doesnt mean they'll miss payments...if that was the case then it looks like an evo is not for you and your gonna have to look for a cheaper car...thats not my situation..btw im going to the dealership this weekend to sign for the car...if i get it ill post pics

It has been your dream car? For what, like 15 minutes??

975 a month is not enough to have a car loan. 400 for the loan anyway, plus insurance and gas.

Do you give your parents any money to live there now that your an adult? You should. The carried you for the past 18 years. Time to pay some back a little and get yourself a Sentra and save up for awhile to get your dream car.

Any EVO that is making you make $500+ payments a month is outrageous ... you could put that money to much better use ... heck if i was you id just get a beater and save upto 1/2 the cost of the car as a down payment...

heck id go to college and get an education ... get in a better position to buy the car...

you have waited 18 years to buy the car... 4 more wont kill ya.

Probably buy a GTR when you get out of school.

I`ve always made it a rule of thumb not to pay more than $400 a month on a car. And thats being too generous for my budget. Dude i would listen and wait, i will feel much better when u get it down later and be able to keep it for good. Than getting it now and having to give it up down the road. I am 28 and i waited 4 years to actually be able to get an evo. I could have grabbed it as soon as i graduated, but the timing had to be right.

I feel much better now that if i had gotten it before and made $600-700 payments and had to let it go. Build your credit first too, i was very frustrated when i had young credit(not bad) and couldnt get anything even a bestbuy or circuit city card.

Even now i am getting a beater ek9 civic hatch for daily driving. Dont want to run my evo to the ground, but i am paying cash for the civic. Save up and just be patient like everyone is suggesting.

Good luck and hope u make the best decision...

P.S. In a few years you`ll be looking into a used evo x thats not so bad!

with your current salary, yes you might be able to afford the car payments. You might even get lucky and afford the insurance. What about maintenance? tires, clutch, mods.... I too was just like you, couldnt wait. im in the military for christs sake and i dont make very much. well, i do now that im married, but before when i was single. it got me into a bigger credit hole. a few years later, i was still paying out the *** especially in interest.

Now that i had the pleasure of a refinance (thank the millitary for once) my credit has been skyrocketing, but from experience, just wait a little bit longer till you buy this car. It will always pay off in the end. havent you ever heard the saying

"good things come to those who wait" im totally a firm believer in this and also the rolling stones said it best "you cant always get what you want"

heed our advice as im sure we have all gone through this and we just dont want to see others have to go through the same trouble. its not worth it. There is always deals on evo's especially in new york if your willing to drive a bit to get it. food for thought.....

Dude, you are crazy. you don't even make a G a month. Look at it this way, if 18 year old kids could afford an evo, don't you think all of them would have one, instead of them creaming their pants when one drives by them???

There is no way. The I want thing is more than likely what put you into the bad credit thing anyways. You will not get approved for the car unless you have a strong co-signer and even then you will not be able to PAY for the car. Here are some numbers to consider...

2006 EVO IX $24,000 (If you get lucky)

60 month finance term @ 10% which would be a godsend for an 18 year old will be

Monthly payment:
$509.93
Insurance: You will not pay a dime less than $300 a month for this car, more like $400.00 it is one of the most expensive cars to insure for ADULTS (25 years old+) let alone a kid

Gas: 1 tank per week for a month = 14.5 Gal tank @ 3.75 (super) $216.00 per month

Total:
$1025.93 just for the car...

Clutch goes = $1500
Tires = $600
Oil changes = $50+
Basic dealer service = $$$
Speeding tickets = HAHAHAHAH

So! If you have your dad co-sign for it and get approved, you don't eat and don't lose your license I sayyy the car will get repossessed innn approximately 4 months. But that is only because you have around that time to fork over the payments 90 days +

Hey guys listen thanks for all the advice and all but i should of mentioned that insurance wise i made an agreement with my father that i would only pay 100 a month for insurance...my father called the insurance and adding the car was an additional 100 dollars..therefore...im paying 100 dollars a month plus the loan...and btw i have 10 grand (to myself) to pay for the loan bills so i shouldnt have a problem paying loan bills plus my salary....while im at it my fathers credit would increase from this.....Anyways the guy who im buying the car from has 9k mileage... the turbo, the clutchmaster(twin disc) is brand new, also the tires, tial bov, 255 walbro fuel pump, comp 272 cams are all brand new....so i dont have to worry about any of that...only regular maintenance such as gas oil changes etc....speeding ticket wise i will be fine...i mean its not me anyone who has an evo naturally speeds...but im getting an escort 8500 radar detector so i should be fine as its one of the top detectors on the market today but i understand what you guys are saying....im not stupid i know if i was paying that amount ($1000) including 300-400 insurance, loan, gas etc then yes i wouldnt be here but im not paying that much...

i think your gonna dig yourself in a hole...... maintenance on these cars isnt cheap at all.... and dont expect a warrenty with these cars.. i dont care if its bone stock and brand new.. mitsu will find one way or another to void it.... your 18.... i personally dont think you need a car like this.... payment.. ins... gas... and im sure your gona get the mod bug like evryone else..... im guessing the car will be wrecked within a month or 2... (i really hope not) the only reason i say that is your not gonna be able to keep your foot out of it.... like 311 i'd wait till you get more stable in your finances... there will always be modded evos out there....

i agree with these guys, im 18 aswell man, there is no way in hell that i can get an evo, no way, i just bought a RA instead for now, i plan on turbo for it cause ill have it for a while, i plan on getting an evo to mod in the future but probably not till about mid 20's. everyone tells me to save up my money for the evo in the future, that is completely right, its not worth it right now, gas is skyrocketing, by the time you save up money gas will go down, and you'll be able to do what you want to do to the car, but hey what do i know, im just and 18 year old kid. well good luck with which ever way you choose to go. if you get it post pics up

Agreed along with many other things said on here. Also, I'm just another 18 year old kid so listen to me or not its up to you. However, I have an 03 Lancer paid off and this is my DD I do plan on getting an evo and maybe even as soon as next year. But heres the difference dont finance it. The way I grew up if you cant afford it dont get it, so I'm saving enough to go make a nice cash payment, and its actually not a bad thing to do i'd highly suggest is. Cash deals will always get you the best price for any car and you wont have to worry about getting or extra bills towards the end of the month. Instead of worrying about repo's put the same amount a car payment would be, put it in a savings account and repoed in less time than you think you'll have quite a nice sum.. Gl with your choice though.

Im 18 and I make around 2k a month after taxes. I saved up for a year just to get around 10k for a down payment. I also had no credit so my dad co signed the loan for me but its still under my name so once I get my tittle its my car not my dads. Id suggest trying that if you can afford the car. I pay 450 a month and 350 a month for insurance. Not to mention gas and any other bill that might pop up like excise taxes. Yea its kind of expensive especially for an 18 year old but it's definatly worth it. Oh and btw the only help I got from my parents for this car was my dads signature so he would be my co signer. I paid/pay for everything else myself. I wouldnt wanna dig myself into a hole. Just make sure you can put money off to the side into a savings account like I do just as an emergency fund incase something happens at your job or if you have some unexpected bills or anything else that can happen. Im not sure if you have this bank there but I was financed through TD Banknorth @ 9% intrest. I think I tried getting a loan through 2-3 other banks and they all denied me because I had no credit history.

U kinda sound like me but im 23 and i make about 2k after taxes, maybe a lil more, ive loved Evo's for years+. Last year when the X came out i went to the Dealership right when the first x came off the truck and i actually filled out the credit report sheet thinkin ima get the car that day(Yeah Right) for 42K, i knew i wasnt!!! Just wanted to make myself think i was, Newaz since Feb of last year ive been saving to put a nice down payment and lookin around to find the right evo x, the prices gladly r comin down becuz mitsu knows this car is over priced for the street scene, if u look around youll find an evo for the right price, but i knew i had to wait to get it, busted my a** saving for this on top of finally building my cred becuz i had no history, im planning on buyin my x on my b-day in november, all i know is that im not payin no more then bout 450 on the note and i found out yesterday ill be paying about 290 on insurance and the only exspenses i have r a 30K+ school loan and a cell phone bill, lol u gotta be patient, ive waited almost a year
