Car stumbles after installing intake and int. pipes
Hey...so last night I installed the injen intake system with the upper and lower INT. piping. I have to say that I trust all of the work I did and everything fit nicely. No problems with the install. Well I took it for a test drive today and everything seemed ok. I cruised around for a while and then pushed on it rolling through second, into third, without problem. I cruised around a few more hours. Leaving a stop light, I started accelerating normally and then put it down in first. The car climed a few RPM's and then began stumbling a bit. Since then i have not pushed on it. The car has a catback, boost controller set to about 19psi, and the injen system. No engine codes were thrown either. Only thing I could possibly think of, and correct me if i'm wrong, would be to disconnect the battery for a few hours and then when I reconnect it, the engine will learn the new setup. Is that a possibility?? Any info will help out. Thanks!

did you tune it after you put those parts on? my car felt like it did the same thing, you're probably hitting boost cut, more than likely cause by your intake. i'd just throw your stock air box on there until you get it tuned, they're not restrictive til about 400whp anyways. thats what i did.

yea...figured it might be something of that sort...just sucks because Injen claims it to be a tuned intake system, a "bolt on" so to speak. I would strongly consider putting the airbox back on, but because the stock bypass valve ties into the intake and upper intercooler pipe, I'd have to change out that as well. Never changed the plugs and who knows if the guy before me did. I'll check em and possibly try that. If that doesn't work, i'll try turning the boost back down. Other than that...it would have to be the tune.

you shouldnt have to change out the bypass. just put your stock intake system back on. just loosen the hose clamp going into the intake itself. and unbolt that, you're intercooler piping should be fine, then again i havent had to mess with mine, its still stock ic piping. just put your rubber intake pipe and stock airbox on and you should be fine, it took me like 10 minutes to do it and change out my stock plastic bov on my 8 to my greddy type s. then my problem was solved, like i said though my ic piping is stock so i wouldnt know if that could still cause a boost cut, i'm going to make an educated guess and say no. but dont quote me on that. good luck!

I'm sorry to bring up this old thread back up but I'm having a similar issue. I just installed the BR throttle body/65mm and BR ported stock intake manifold and now every time I get on it WOT on 3rd or 4rd gear it feels like i hit a brick wall when it reaches high rpms. The car hasn't been tuned yet what can this be though? Thank you in advance
