why do we need an MBC?

just curiouse, if this the stock solenoid boost controler can be accessed with evoscan then why cann;t we just then control the boost level, instead of replacing it with an MBC?
Thanks

You can and lots of people do ,,, it is what i prefer actually ,,, some say its hard to use or inconsistent i upgraded to the fp HP wastegate actuater and found it much easier to dial in with less spiking and fall off it hit the number i wanted it to and just stuck only about a 1 psi drop amazing.... as more people start to believe in the factory selenoid and using evoscan it will become more popular .

The reason why you would want a mbc is you can adjust boost when ever you want just by turning the knob instead of loading evoscan and having to log the car then change boost setting also don't forgot you have to change boost setting with different weather condition's usally fall and spring a mbc is much easier and logical.

Colder air is denser so in winter you will see a large rise in pressure around 3-4 psi is normal for most obviously you must adjust for it you can do this by using your mbc or by evoscan I had two different maps ready one low boost pump 19ish one high pump 23ish the 19 one turns into 22-23 in winter.

i prefer mbc, just easier to turn the knob verses the loading up the evoscan.

well the main reason besides what everyone else on here said......

but the stock boost controller can only raise the pressure by 1-3psi....not a big deal.
now if u get the JDM/GM/EVOX 3 bar map sensor then u can ajust the boost using the ECU up to 3 bar (44psi)...

so thats why ppl use MBCs because the stock BC is pretty much maxed out from the factory...

u can do it...but not by the BC soleinoid. speed density and other paramaters will allow you to set it up via ECU.
