Is Evo driveable here?

Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I moved up to Buffalo, New York from Atlanta for grad school. I've wanted the Evo for a while now and almost got it cleared with the parents but just recently my dad asked if it's even driveable in Buffalo because it has low skirts. He thinks they may break because of all the snow here. I did a thread search but all I found was questions about driving in snow (tire-related). So obviously it is possible to operate in snow, but Buffalo gets a TON of snow and since I've been here (6 months) I've seen one Evo and it was in the summer time. Nothing since! Just looking at pictures it doesn't seem that low...does anyone know if I'd have trouble in times when the snow is like 12 inches? I'd hate for this to be the reason of me not getting an Evo
Thanks for the help!!

Just get yourself a good set of winter tires and you'll be fine

so basically, the body is not too low?? I currently have an SUV and it easily plows thru the snow. just don't want there to be damage to the bumper if it's too low...

I drove my WRX from north jersey to vermont in a bad snow storm about 6 years ago and it did awesome. BTW it was on beat up RE92 and lowered with TEIN coilovers...plowed the hell out of the snow with the front bumper. My Evo does this a little bit better...snow tires+EVO with all those fantastic Diffs = better then SUV

sweet! thanks a lot everyone for the advice. I'm looking into a 2006 IX right now for $23,000. It has only 16,000 miles and it is 100% stock with warranty good until october 2010. No damage, only friendly day ridden, and never been in snow. Seems like a good deal if I can scrap up the money!

I'm in Utah. Tons of snow. Plow through all the time with no problem. Just watch for ice chunks. But powder = no problem. And the evo is badass in the snow with good tires. FYI I've got Continental Extreme Contacts and I've got total confidence in slick conditions.

The evo on stock suspension is not low, corvettes, s2000's, and stock civics are lower than a stock evo.
