Evo X resale value low?

Hey all, Is it just me or is the resale value of our X's low? I feel liek the 9's held their value and still do so well. And now the evo x's are just not quite holding their value. Any input on why this is? And why the 9's are still selling for about the same as our X's?

Why does this question get asked so much? Have you read the newspaper lately? Watched the news?

In the current state of the WORLD economy (not only the US is having a hard time right now) you can replace "Evo X" with just about anything"

"Is it just me or is the resale value of our homes low?"
"Is it just me or is the resale value of my Aston Martin low?"

The resale value of everything is low right now, people are buying less, saving more, in fear of an economic collapse.

2007 Nissan GT-R's that were selling for average $85k USD here in Japan, are now selling for $60k with less than 1000 miles on them.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, just realize that now is a buyer's market, not a seller's market.

Economic collapse would not be what I consider economical, but it is a collapse non the less. :P

LOL, yeah, I just woke up, I'll edit that. An "economical" collapse would be interesting though? "OH MY GOD WE'RE SAVING TOO MUCH! IT'S GONNA FALL THROUGH! AHHHHHHH!"

Also depends on demand. I personally like the IX more than the X. A few months ago it was the other way around but then the IX hooked me in. That and given the fact that X is still being sold new while IX only had 8,400 sold (off that numbers thread), it adds to people wanting something because it's rarer.

And yeah...economy isn't that best right now. I would think a X still sells for more than a IX right now but as I'm sure you know, buying new means your car is worth about 20% less the day you drive it off the lot. Not that big for evos but it's still there.

9's have dropped quite abit of value in the last few month's (as have most cars). Its the economy.

Back when they were new, MKIV Supra's had horrible resale value. They were losing 50% in 3 years. it wasn't until after they were discontinued, started catch on how fast they were and the Fast and Furious Movie came out mthat the price increased.

Just to be clear im not complaining that the cars resale is low and trust me i know the economy is bad. If i could do it all again i would still buy another X. What i was wondering was why the 9's seem to sell for more than X's. (Every time i look on ebay) and i was not aware of the low production number. That very likely may be the case...I just was curious to see what you guys thought on the matter. Not about why our resale is low...just why it is lower than the 9. Personally i feel the X is an alla round nicer car and it was just a curiosity thing.

could be a number of things other than the economy...
1) huge aftermarket support for the 8/9's
2) tons of info available on modding the 8/9's (e.g. this website has a ton of info)
3) easier to mod than the X?? putting a turbo near the firewall i think is a bit harder than at the front.
4) the X is in it's first year and there are issues that are having some people hold back on buying those...

I haven't been following X resale value, but what are they actually selling for? (reserve not met doesn't count) IX sales seem to be down in $22-23K, with not much of Premium for MR or discout for RS. Last summer prices were a good $4-5K higher.
