Nitrous Oxide

Just curious on peoples opinions on whether this was a plausible upgrade for an evo. I'm posting this in the newbie section instead of the meth/nitrous section since I dont have any specific technical questions.

Just wanted to know whether or not its a good idea to use nitrous. I would figure it would be good since it would cool the fuel. But id like to hear some opinions

Not many use nos on evos, most use meth or e85

How much do the meth/e85 kits run? I know you can do the nitrous kits for 300-500$

e85: you need injectors and a tune. Also you need e85 pumps in your area.

Meth: The kits range in price. I would get the HFS-1 from aquamist.

I guess I need to read up on the other kits then. Are they also a 1 shot deal like nos?
I plan to get a new pump and injectors anyway.

This thread is somewhat related to your question about the wisdom of putting nitrous in an evo.

I used meth + nitrous + nitromethane on my old evo for quite some time but you definitely need an upgraded clutch to run nitrous due to the increased torque...I would suggest not running much more than a 50 shot unless you only spray the car once in a blue moon...I was up to a 100 shot before I sold the car...its fun stuff but theres so many other mods I would do before I ran nitrous on an evo...

I'm going to be running a Wilson Manifolds Nitrous Pro-Flow wet system this year on a 100% stock 06 RS right down to the paper filter and stock exhaust with a cat.

All 3 have great power benefits, but can be somewhat of a PITA to run
e85-big injectors, tune, and have to have it offered near where u live
nos-bottle pressure and making sure you have it in the bottle when u need it
meth-again, making sure you have it in ur tank, and that you NEVER run out @ WOT

Nos is dumb in my opinion I would rather make real power, Get E85 and a good tune.

First of all, n2o is real power. You really go to the store and buy it, you really spend all night installing the kit on your car and it really makes power. The problem I had was the cost of refilling the bottle every time I wanted to go to the track. Not many shops could refill the bottle around town. It is real figidity, buy when everything worked right it rocked.

For the cost of a good kit you could almost buy a meth kit and a good tune, or put that money towards a turbo...boost never runs out.
