the clutch, full exhaust, and the rotors need to be replaced. and the full 60k mile matinence needs to be done asap.
1.) the car had full bolt ons minus cams. the clutch started to slip with all the mods. the day i took all mods off and flashed it back to stock it stopped slipping. later that day i traded car in. the clutch will go soon.
2) the exhaust is an evo 9 downpipe and an evo 8 cat and catback. the cat is F-ed. the exhaust was put back on just enough to get it traded in. i didnt have my stock exhaust so i had to scrape together what i could to get it traded in. the cat does not work so i put the CEL fix in it so i wont throw a code. to sum it up put a turbo back exhaust on it asap.
3.) the stock rotors were reaplced right before i traded it in. since i decided to trade it in i put my stockers back on. they are fine for now but wont last much longer cuz they have 63k miles on them.
4.) the 60k mile matinence was not done before i traded it in. i would tell the place you bought it from to do it.
Besides these things:
The car has a walboro 255 fuel pump in it (the whineing sound, thats why it goes away when you hit the gas).
The car has a shep stage 2 t-case with ~45K miles on it. Should be fine for a while.
The UK evo IX badge was put on a month before i got rid of it too.
The rear fender inner lips are cut out inside to fit wider tires.
Here are some pics that can give you some ideas of what it used to be and what the car once had off of it. Dont have any picstures of how it was right before i took everything off. let me know if you have an questions. AS you can see im pretty open to tell you anything you need to know about its past. There is alot of stuff that this car has been through. And the car is still my avatar LOL.

I'm taking a double take at the car now =] that's crazy how it used to look.. would've neva known
p.s no wonder the shift knob is screwed on retarded haha
i will let you know on the sound system...definetly need to upgrade
I'm thinking about slapping on the trust ti-r exhaust but won't make a decesion for a couple weeks. suggestions anyone?? for some reason youtube isn't working on my laptop

Congrats on the purchase! I have basically the same car (pre-mods, anyway) and thought AS was the way to go since the Gunmetal-ish color has been so popular. Within a week there were 3 friggin' AS Evo's at my work parking garage. Oh well, what can you do?
Does it in any way sound like a fuel pump whine? Depending on what "she's" running, it could be more audible. Or if the stock is starting to take a dump it could be whining.
edit - whoops, posts crossed. Sounds like it is a better fuel pump (Walbro) per Dave.

Hey congrats on the car....definitely have the dealership that sold it to you do the 60k....Take it to a Mitsubishi dealership and have them print you out everything the car needs then take it to the dealership and show them....Tell them how come this wasn't found in the UCI (used car inspection). Since the car market is down I'm sure they are going to want to accommodate you so you don't hand the keys back over. Other than that looks like a nice evo...love Mitsubishis in Silver.
