Official Evo Girl
Hey! I finally bought my Evo 9 MR a week ago and totally love it. i'm having fun getting to know "her" She's perfect! Quick question i tend to here this whine coming from the rear and have no idea what it is. Sometimes it goes away but most of the time you can hear it. Is it normal. There's 63,000 miles on the car ..my boyfriend will be changing all the fluids and oil next week. .. Anyways here she is...
Thanks

Congrats on the purchase, Evo transmissions tend to whine a bit in first gear, so if you feel your car has a whine coming from the rear I would get the rear differential checked out by professionals.
Good luck and ejoy the car!

I would take it to a reputable local shop or Mitsubishi dealership to get it checked out and depending on the diagnosis, (which might turn out to be nothing if you are just getting used to Evo noises), I would take back to where you get it so that they can fix it if there is anything wrong with the car.

Congrats on the purchase! I have basically the same car (pre-mods, anyway) and thought AS was the way to go since the Gunmetal-ish color has been so popular. Within a week there were 3 friggin' AS Evo's at my work parking garage. Oh well, what can you do?
Does it in any way sound like a fuel pump whine? Depending on what "she's" running, it could be more audible. Or if the stock is starting to take a dump it could be whining.
edit - whoops, posts crossed. Sounds like it is a better fuel pump (Walbro) per Dave.
