Stuttering at full throttle - Evo X
I have just under 1,000 miles on a new Evo X GSR. I showed great care during the 600 mile break-in period (stayed under 5,000 RPM etc), and have been a bit of fun with it since I can now let loose.
For some reason though, at full throttle at about 5-6k RPM the car will stutter or pause momentarily (for lack of better words), similar to what happens on a tank of fumes during hard cornering or on an extreme hill where the engine is starved briefly of fuel. (And to be clear, that has never happened in this Evo.)
Any ideas?

Also - is it pretty typical for shifting to be pretty clunky during the first 10 minutes or so after the car is started? No other stick I've driven has been anything like this, but both cars I drove at the dealership were. The manual talks about the need for the transaxle fluid to warm up, but good grief...

I actually just happened to stumble upon this!
This is a recall from a year ago though. Good grief. Time to take it in I guess.
Customers of some affected vehicles may experience a slight hesitation when accelerating at engine
speeds above 5,000 RPM. The condition is due to the air fuel mixture becoming too rich during higher engine speed.

You will get used to it. i have 13336 miles now and my stuttering came on with the second reflash. It will go away with normal driving as your ecu learn how you drive. GET A TUNE and that will fix it all. Swap out your fluids and the shifting should improve along with all your drivetrain. good luck!
