You will not spend 2-3 times in the shop a month... total BS. Worst I have had is two tranny gear lockouts (wouldnt shift out of 2nd and 4th once each) and low fluid in the diff causing right rear grinding. One time it was resolved by letting the car sit for 30min and the other was a dealer reflash. It is a great car and you will love it. Amazing for a car weighing 4000lbs, you'll notice the weight, but you'll appreciate it on long trips. Enjoy it!

Gear lockout huh?............ sounds like a recipee for a possible over rev
Hey buddy if you plan on keeping it in a garage longer than a week, plan on a dead battery

evo is a kid's ride? oh well, its your money if you want a m5 or even a ferrari that is befitting your status. however, bear in mind that there are more ferrari halfcuts than skilled ferrari owners. 500hp doesn't make a difference if you don't know how to control the power, doesn't matter what car you drive. have fun with your new ride.

500hp + 4000+lbs will feel like 300hp and get 9mpg.
500hp + 2900 lbs will feel like 480hp and get 26mpg.

Ouch, you could buy another used evo every year in what you'll spend to keep that m5 on the road.

M5's are sweet rides, and I do make sure to let owners know that once they've caught up. Haha, j/k! Have fun with the new ride, and best of luck selling the Evo. I know people are still looking for IXs in good condition so you shouldn't have much of a problem.

dgrumpys, I am not sure what your issue is. You will not get a bad battery after a week, you will not visit the dealer 3 times a month, and the very sophisticated transmission and computer will not allow for an over rev (though if you have a 6-sp I am sure you manage to do it).
Maybe you got a lemon of an M5, or maybe you are just an idiot. Based on your posts, I am going with the latter. Don't bash on a car that this guy just spent hard earned cash on and you have no business driving.
