Evo IX MR vs Evo X MR

I agree, you must drive both to see which you enjoy the most.
My thoughts are, if you plan on modding heavily down the road, go for the IX MR. It will take more of a beating, the 4G63 is a tried and true motor. This is not to say that the 4B11 will not live up to the hype, but for now I would still stick with the IX, there is a reason that Mitsubishi has used that motor since ~1987. Also, I like the rawness of a stick shift, everytime I drive an automatic I feel as if I should be doing something, you know, to get into driving the car. It really makes the driving experience more enjoyable and in some conditions (harsh winter) safer since you can coast in neutral and ride out gears as needed (also can do in an auto, but stick was made for it).
Also, the IX is sort of the last of a dying breed. It is the last of the TRUE rally Evos and who knows what could happen to the value if it is taken care of down the road.

what is the point of going faster around a corner when you cant feel it?
everything you do everyday is for the feeling.
think about it..even all the bad s**t we do.
my point is, if you cant feel the road as well as the ix why even bother unless you autox regularly...

i traded my 8 in for an x mr and its led me to bellieve most of the x mr bashing is done out of ignorance.
s-sport manual mode asc off till it beeps and it acts like a completely different car.
i havent missed using a stick one bit, but at times i miss the twitchyness of my old 8.
the evo x was mtsu's attempt to please all the whiners who said for the price the evo should be nicer, now the evo has all the cool gadgets and people still complain.
if you look at the history of the evo its most dramatic change didnt happen until after it was introduced to america.

Well this thread looks pretty dead but im gonna drop my 2cents neways. The evo x mr is an old mans car... An old mans car that has a bad knee and complains about using a clutch pedal. Every REAL evo enthusiasts will tell you the evo x is a disgrace! I like people to know my lancer is a REAL evo just by glancing at it. The evo x looks just like the base lancer in so many ways its just sad. I could go on for days about how much I dont like the X. Ill give it this though the front looks mean as hell....... but thats where it all stops. My biggest complaint is the rear mount turbo.....enough said. Also for the last time those stupid *** paddle shifters are no where close to replacing a real gear box and clutch. The only people who like it are people who dont know how to drive. Mainly little rich snot nose brats who are little wanna be paul walkers. So yeah ive driven an 8, 9, and X.. the evo ix mr is hands down the sexiest best performing evo out
