Evo Zero?
lets try this again, my apologies about the last post :-(.
anyways, who considers the Mitsubishi Galant VR4s a form of evolution? before the lancer evolution there was the galant rally right? and this may be apples to oranges but the galant uses the 4g63t and awd with 4 doors etc etc etc- so yeahhhh.
anyways, could it actually be considered an evolution?
im asking because i have a GVR4 and often thought of it as a baby evo :-)

FWIW, I considered it a baby Evo and would have parked next to him whenever possible were it not for the fact that we worked for different companies so had to park in different areas within the lot.
I really liked the looks of the thing.
Plus: it had harnesses and an extinguisher, so I got the impression the guy really drove it. I was doing track days at the time, so had much more respect for that VR4 than for Evo dyno queens and garage queens with carbon fiber hoods which weighed more than the stock aluminum hoods.
Rock on, Evo Zero!

baby evo? no. father of the evo? yes. and no, it cannot be considered an evo because its a galant. thats like saying an eclipse is an evo cause it has awd+4g63t. cool car, a coworker also had one and i would compare my evo to it all the time.

just to be an *** GVR4 is not a DSM its MMC ![Smilie](https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I think its an EVO 0, that's where it all started. Same exact parts, suspension very close so i think its a platform on which they build the first evo.
I had 2 GVR4, 1 1g, 1 2g and 2 EVOs. So i know them very well and i still respect GVR4 very much.

just wondering where everyone stood. i still like to think of it being closer to the evo (not bc theyre sweet rides.... but b/c of the commonalities they share, moreso than the eclipse). anywho, anyone else want to chime in? :-)

There is no "Evo Zero". The Galant VR4 was the car that Mitsubishi used in WRC before deciding to dump it's powerplant and drivetrain into a smaller car (Lancer) in order to have a smaller more nimble chassis. And before the Galant there was the Starion, and the Lancer GSR 1600.
