Well, burning oil is a whole different issue... Have you done a compression test on the engine? What were the pressure readings across the board? Don't push the motor past that point until you determine the engine is reliable. You don't want to be running around on a head gasket that is about to go etc. Have you looked at the coolant lately? Any oil or crap in there? The problem of the popping still sounds like the ignition. Could be plugs, coilpacks, wires, distributor, the list goes on and on. The burning oil raises serious concerns though...

The little gold thing looks like a stock boost solenoid to me (the location and picture both make me think so). If is definitely modded, looks like heavily modded. The Intake is an HKS, BOV is HKS SSQV, which is tough on idle and drivability unless you have a computer compensating for it or a recirculation kit. As for the wastegate, there is only one line coming off of it to the breather filter? That can't be, there has to be a vacuum line to the 1) stock solenoid or 2) electronic or manual boost controller. Maybe it is behind somewhere, it is hard to tell in the pictures.
Still do a compression test on the motor to try and find the reason why you are burning off blow through oil. Chances are a bad head gasket. The sputter under load still sounds like fuel or ignition. Do you have an aftermarket fuel pump, walbro, etc? Just need to go through and document all the parts and try and get pictures of all of them. Do you know the previous owner? Was he having problems with this, or did it just suddenly come on one day?

i think we all would say ur right on that one.haha.. now to find the problem... sounds like fuel to me.... would have to go over the whole car...bring it to someone who knows what there doing instead of trying to figure it out over the forums with noone being able to properly diagnose the problem

Do you have a boost gauge installed by any chance?

It could be factory fuel cut to overboost warning (do it too often and a service engine light comes on).
Could also be really a really shi++y tune from previous owner.

+1 to this. That is what has been leading me to a part failing. He hasn't changed anything with the tune or setup. Just swapped the plugs and regapped in case the gap was too wide.

Yes, sounds like a fuel issue. Install a fuel pressure gauge and bring it up to the point of the stumble. You might see the drop. Good luck
