Why is my evo so quiet?

Hey guys this is prolly a stupid question but im new to evos and yeah i figrured id ask cause when i owned my wrx it was loud as hell..

Im running a 3" dp, 3"resonated test pipe, and a 3"hks hi power catback with resonator.

I would think this would be like abnoxiously loud, are all evos quiet? if so could somebody please tell me why?

I can post up a vid of my evo at idle with 3" ams exhaust all the way back with NO resonators's. The resonators are what is making it kinda quiet on yours.. evo's are not quiet if you open up the exaust.

There just quiet. I had a resonated test pipe on mine and swaped with a non resonated test pipe and only made it alittle louder. I thought the same so i put a resonator on then took it off. Its not gonna be near as loud as any other car.

If you want loud, get straight through test pipe in stead of resonated.

I may switch the cat out for a resonated test pipe on my AMS TBE, after reading this.

Just run a straight pipe exhaust, no muffler should be loud enough for ya.

The AMS Turn down is pretty bad *** too.

Get rid of the resonator in the HKS catback. Then if its still too quiet, get a non-resonated test pipe instead of a resonated one. Then if its still too quiet, get a titanium catback. The problem is, you have 2 resonators in your exhaust.

When you say resonated do you mean there is a piece in the pipe, or resonated chambers around the straight through pipe? I just got a straight resonated pipe in place of my cat that allows more flow than my HFC but also quiets the car down pretty well.

Of course, these are also not boxer motors with that guttural exhaust note that you're used to with the wrx.
