How much boost do you run just around town?

Kaboom? What the hell? There are many stock cars who run 30-35 lbs of boost safely. You have to be tuned for it, be running race gas or E-85, headstuds are some nice insurance, and a wideband to keep an eye on things. Unless you absolutely beat the **** out of the car and run full WOT all the time, then you will have problems. I am the same as yahu, I run 30-31psi peak, it is pretty efficient and holds to 27-28ish, but barely ever run that at cruise.
I understand you want to keep the car in working order and not abuse it. This is what the car was made for, not necessarily the 30psi, but it came from the factory set for the low 20's. Mitsubishi believed it could hold this number reliably regardless of the driving conditions, so why lower it?

24 PSI set at full time....throttle position (or how hard I hit the gas) controls the boost. I basically drive it around town as an NA set-up with some whoop *** on board if necessary.

The only reason you should turn your boost down is if you notice it boosting too high due to cold temps- even then, keep it at the level it was tuned for. Period.

0 psi. One of the two engines sitting in my garage has holes the size of baseballs on either side from running +28 psi. I didn't do it, so all I can do is speculate, but he had to be peaking well over 30. Either way...makes you think. And yes, it was mostly stock.

Stock block stock head stock turbo and stock head studs... I run 23.5 lbs.. the stock boost is almost 20lbs, Mitsu made it run overly rich to keep it safe and figure it will spike to higher psi when cold. if you don't wanna hit high boost all the time don't drive like a jack ***. I also have hks 272 cams a walbro 255 and i tuned my car with ecu flash and evo scan. been on this set up since 40k and now at 76k miles. keep up on maitnece and the car will last, just looka round lots of people driving the evo like it was meant to be driven and have a ton of miles. If u arnt gonna run even stock boost why even pay the extra money for an evo, you would be fine with a civic si or lancer.... grow a pair and live a little its quite fun
