A good title and a bad carfax doesn't make it a good deal, and yes private sellers are selling 9's at 17-22K around here.

1. The car wasn't a private seller it was at a dealership so everyone quoting private party prices is missing the point. Sometimes there are reasons why people have to buy from a dealer (financing etc...)

2. I never said the car was a good deal or go buy it or anything to that effect. I was simpling saying expecting that dealer to sell the car at that price was crazy.

3. Why would someone assume I overpaid for my evo? I was very patient in my search over many months and drove like 1,200 miles each way to get the best possible deal from a private party.

I'm pretty darn sure the vehicle sold for 20k because they let me walk out the door without even going down 100 dollars on price.... and I also checked with carfax and they actually were able to take off the odometer reading error because I guess it really was a clerical error made by some dealership so basically all the carfax report shows now is the accident....

I'm kind of regretting not buying it when I had the chance, but maybe it wasn't meant to be.
