I an original owner of a bone stock, never modded, TB IX GSR with 34k miles, a brand new OEM clutch, and new brake pads all around. Thinking bout selling it, but I still am making payments, so there is still a lean on it.

I bought mine off ebay, flew to Dallas and drove it back. Car is great but had all kinds of issues getting it registered in my state. The buyer did help me out with everything but was not as speedy with the help as I would have liked. Before you buy out of state make sure you get all the things your state requires before you leave with the car.

Patience got me my IX but boy it was tough. She's worth it though! Keep looking and you'll find your dream car. Good luck!
Be glad that you're able to drive couple hours to find an Evo. Living in Hawaii makes Evo finding difficult. Had to wait 2 months for a decent one to become available. Almost considered going up to visit Sam at SC Mitsu to pick one up which involves $1000 shipping + plane flight + hotel etc etc.

Thanks everyone for helping me out. And Thanks for those selling the evos for letting me know but I am looking to finance as well just to bring my credit up. I found a dealer in va with 9 of them some 100% stock with low miles. Any one in that area can check some of these out for me? Its in Norfolk, VA. I'm gonna go down there next week and talk to the sales rep today and see what's up with the I would just hate to waste the trip. Look at another one in florida today it was bad. Some1 replaced the seats with autozone 100$ seats. Ebay turbo, running rich no tune, carpet rippped and. Center console was broken. I told this guy he was crazy selling it for 17,900 with 86,000 miles. I hate people who try to rip you off just cause its and evo.

Iv recently sold my s2000 and want to buy an evo. Only problem is i search and search and they all have a crazy amount of miles. Im willing to spend between 16 and 21000 but every one i find is heavily modded or over 80k still for about 20000. any suggestions? how bad is it to buy one with so many miles? iv read all the forums and searched alot but all im asking are how bad is it to have so many miles on the car and how many miles should be a good amount for how much i would like to spend.? thank you.
By the way im new to the forums and my name is Darryl.
any info would help.

TO be hopeful, keep looking, you might just get lucky and find the EXACT one you are looking for, with your PREFERRED choice of miles, for your EXACT price.
That said, and to be realisitic, the saying is true: "sometimes you have to pay to play". Again, to be discredited by those few who did or have, unless you find the perfect one (you might) you need to either wait or if the car is close to what you want, you have to ask yourself:
Would I accept a car with more miles/not perfect that fits within my price range,
-or-
would I be willing to pay more to get the features/trim/miles I prefer?
Good luck, welcome, and let us know how it goes!

okay so i found a tarmac black evo 8 03 with 35,000 miles.. 100% stock.. the asking price is 22,000 but i kelly blue booked it and said 18,670 for an 03 with those miles. That was dealer asking price in excellent condition on kbb. is that a bad deal? i emailed him and was talking to him about the car he sent some pics too but i told him i need engine bay and interior befor we talk about price. i also emailed him the kbb info to hopefully get it around 20k if possible. this may be the one but i dont know if i should get an 03? what do u guys think. would it be better to get a newer year or an 03 with that mileage is good? what about mod and power wise.?an 03 have any problems? i have read through all the posts about 03s and 06s but i want real advice from 03 owners. lemme know what u guys think.

If u want an VIII look for '05, they have some upgrades compared to the '03 & '04.
I have a '05 VIII with 26k, but it is a keeper sorry .
Good luck finding one, a well maintained car is usually worth the premium in the long run.
