6 speed + gt35r
hey guys, looking to see who hasa gt35r + 6 speed, and how it drives. i know the 6 speeds are notoriously weak, thats not a concern of mine really as ill be at or under 450wtq. more so interested in the drivability, and how well the short ratio gearing is compared to a larger turbo such as a gt35r (which has the 1.06 hotside), please chime in guys

its going to be laggy to a certain extent, I mean it is a 1.06 hotside gt35 turbo. its not going to have the spool of stock but they arent that bad as far as lag goes. also has to do with driving style/ability and other mods.
aside from the 6spd issue, you should love that car gl

the 6-speed does have smaller gears in 4/5 (6) and they are weaker. Cooling is an issue. But it's not due to fluid amounts.
I honestly think that many failures are do to removal of the OE cooling of the transmission via the undertray. Removal or replacement of the undertray without consideration for transmission/TC cooling is a bad move.
OP, I have a 6-speed at around 390 awhp or so on E85. It's doing fine. I'm not where near the power you will be putting down. But, I think if you keep the transmission cool, via the stock solution or an aftermarket heat exchanger, you'll be fine.

not bad at all, but hes running a .63 hotside, and the 1.06 is considerably larger. the "custom" boost curve looks fun though, but will my setup be laggier than his?

bought a 35r, and it came with both a .63 and a 1.06 housing. would it be better to just use the .63? i hear theres surging problems with that housing, but this dyno graph is showing me different
