Coming from a WS6......Few Questions....
Hi guys. I have a few questions. Im looking at trading in my WS6 for an 06 Evo. Just wondering what you guys think. Will I be disappointed in the trade? I am in a point in my life where I NEED 4 doors. Also Im tired of just going fast in a straight line. I want a car that will handle. My WS6 has all the basic bolt ons and puts down close to 350rwhp.
What is the quickest/cheapest/easiest way to reach 400whp with these cars? Also can you guys tell me what kinds of things will break with these cars. What are these cars notorious for?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks!!

I used to own a 2002 WS6 until it was stolen...I can say the Evo is WAY more comfortable then my WS6 was. The car feels a lot more solid (which is not hard to do considering the ****ty build quality of the fbodys) and all the known rattle problems they had.
Speed wise the car feels way different and the fun of roasting the rear tires and counter steering to stay in a straight line are gone. In its place you have gut wrenching grip and power you roll into and once you're in it, it feels about the same.
I do miss the instant torque of the V8 and the beastly sound, but the EVO has a sexy sound that won't give you a headache after driving in it for an hour never mind the smell without cats lol.
Not to mention the extra room you'll have for passengers and just the overall newer car feel you'll get with the car.
I say go for it unless you like drag racing your WS6 on the weekend as apposed to daily driving a comfortable 4 door with just as much power and handling amazing with the EVO.
Oh btw just for good measure here's a vid of my old WS6...

You definitely will be happy with the Evo as long as you find one that hasnt been raped, as there are plenty. This holds true for any car though. Theres plenty of clean Evo's around though for sure.
My friend, on 93 oct with just an exhaust, air filter, and a manual boost controller at 24psi put down 330whp/328tq. Add a set of mild cams, an actual intake pipe and an intercooler upgrade, plus another slight boost bump and youve matched or already beaten your WS6's power level. If you have E85 you're golden for making power on any setup really.
Common problems are the 6spd transmissions in the MR's. Also, if you improperly launch the car (i.e., dropping the clutch from a stop) you can kiss your transfer case goodbye too eventually. The stock transmissions and clutch are the major weak link though.

The cons of the EVO are police attention. Teenager attention. Dirty looks from your wife / gf when you spend more time with the car than her.
The pros of the EVO are too many to count. Do it and dont look back. Enjoy the car.
