The "extension" (if you mean from the MR/Anti-lift kit) is just a stick-on lip that attaches to the wing. It can be applied to the Evo VIII wing with ease. If you're talking about the entire airfoil to the VIII uprights, I really don't know.

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. i do 100+ on the way to work everyday and i've never come close to having any issues with my wing. at the track i've done 130 many times (a sustained 130), as well as topping the car out around 160, and running at that speed for a pretty good distance also with zero issues.

No difference in weight really, between the 2 wings, however the VIII wing is much stronger/solid than the IX wing.
IX wings are weak in my opinion and plus the VIII looks nicer, ha.

Mine has a hair line crack so I took it off so I won't damage my car.

I've been up to 146 or so many times with my IX wing on the track. Seems fine to me.

OP, there's a thread aroud where this guy shows how to take apart the 8 wing. The 8 and 9 wings are identical as far as shape goes, so you could swap the "blade" part between the 2.
Sorry I don't have the link to the thread, but I've seen it.

I haven't had any problems with my IX wing. I used to speed a lot in my previous Evo IX, and had taken it well beyond 100 mph on several occasions. Not that I endorse this, but I touched 140 mph then stayed at a consistent 100 mph for quite some time, and I didn't have any problems.

By the way, do you think the IX wings can support this kind of weight still?

Dam that girl must be really light because that wing is not even flexing, I know it's strong bad dam Mitsubishi probably got the word they were going to put a girl to lay on the wing so they jackie chan it.

How did it seem more sturdy, as you looked out the rear view mirror? Did the IX flap in the wind like an STi's wing? That would be a real revelation. We got here, because you claimed the IX wing was "weak." That's just silly.
