Well my car is more of a VI than a V. I have VI front bumper, trunk, and wing.My car is in the body shop now getting fixed and I am also adding Carbon fiber side skirt extensions and rear bumper extension. Still deciding on new wheels.

Sorry I couldn't be more help on the issue but if your car is not 25 years or older I say it's a no go.
Did anyone tell you why you shouldn't bring it besides just saying no? I heard the same stories when I was moving to Tokyo years back but when I got there I found out that everything I was told was wrong... along with cars being over 25 yrs old to get there. Shipping to Okinawa is a different beast if you are dealing with the US Government shipping it but if you did it on your own from Mainland you could get it there. Anyway nice selection for your EVO out there and I can't wait to see more pics when it gets out of the shop.

Well I was willing to pay to ship my car out of pocket. But I was told once I got the vehicle into the country I would be subject to heavy taxes and fines and I would have to make the car complaint with all Japanese law. I was told it's easier to ship a car to the states from here than to do visa versa. If you don't have some kind of special bond with your car I say just buy one here.

LOl I swapped for this assignment. This girl was balling crying cause she didn't want to come to japan so they let us swap assignment since we were the same job and PCS at the same time. I ended up looking like the hero since she didn't have to come here.
