Radar/Laser Detector

From what I have heard:
1. Radar jammers are ILLEGAL because radio waves are FCC regulated and therefore you can't legally jam radio frequencies
2. Laser jammers are LEGAL in most states because laser or "lidar" guns are using light not radio waves. Light is not regulated and therefore you can legally jam lidar guns.

Ooo ok thanks for straightening me out. Did a little googleing and read they are illegal in 9 states 1 pending. Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC. And not sure how accurate this is but supposedly laser jammers are not illegal by state but under federal law they are illegal. Since I'm in Texas, I could get one and use it but honestly I think it's a waste. I can't remember the last time I was hit with a laser.
I'm pretty sure they are not illegal under federal law, but honestly, I could be wrong. However, it does make sense that they would be legal, because after all they only interfere with infrared signals and there is no law (that I'm aware of) that can make this illegal.

here in hawaii (oahu), the only thing they use are lasers. with that being said, would i benefit from getting a blinder? it's not like i'm speeding all over the place, but i've already been caught going 15ish over. it's more of a precautionary tool, then something i'd abuse. from what i understand, a laser jammer would be most beneficial because it can jam the gun as compared to detecting a laser only to find out you're screwed. i've been browsing this topic quite a bit, but i'd really like to hear your guys' opinions. thanks

Only thing is though, I have herd from a few cop buddies that one test they must pass is determining a vehicles speed by eye. I think they have to be within a few mph to pass the test so if a cop really wanted to get you after you jamming his laser gun, he could just determin your speed and write anything down.

If it's not illegal in your state and all they use are lasers then yeah, get one. You can YouTube laser jamers and see how they work and what shows up and a cops laser.
