1. Boost Gauge
2. Turbo Timer
3. SS Clutch Line + Brake Lines
4. Intercooler Hard Piping Kit
5. K&N Drop-in Air Filter
6. Turbo Back Exhaust Upgrade
6. Works, Xede, Dynoflash (take your pick - skip a MBC)
7. Cusco Twin Plate Organic Clutch
8. Cams + Injectors + Fuelpump
9. ARC or K&N Typhoon (depending on tune)
10. TIEN Flex Kit

I would also look into improvement with fluids such as Redline, Silicone hoses where needed, and a short shifter.

"I am not mad I just know that the stock BOV works fine, and for some reason people think it leaks"

2f2f is totally right. My car is hovering around 300-320whp (maybe a bit more now, but in any case) and it holds 21 straight to redline perfect with the stock dv. Just because it's plastic doesn't mean it's leaky. BOV's are for the champs who like noise :/

The only suitable alternative that i'd chose in place of the stock DV is the crushed 1G bov welded to Buschur's intercooler piping.

stock bovs' are known to leak in many different models of turbo cars, this is why there is so much knowledge about them in these forums.
A bov that vents to atmosphere is a good choice as it helps in performance (the turbo spools quicker) and helps preserve the life of the turbo (by effectivly stopping exhaust gases going back in the the opposite direction into the turbo).

1. Performance air filter
2. 3" S/S turbo back exhaust
3. Boost controller
4. Coolant hard pipe kit
5. Modifyied ECU (Motec, Autronics etc...)
6. Upgraded fuel pump
7. Upgraded wastegate
8. New suspension
9. 4 pot upgraded braking system
10. uhm...???

Also once you upgrade the ECU you can get rid of the air sensor (as this is mapped through the ECU) so bingo, no stalling problems with the new venting BOV!

This is the difference between having a BOV and NOT having a valve at all. This isn't the difference between a BOV and a recirculating valve.

When you read through this thread, take seriously the people who mention "boost guage" and "grounding/earthing kit" because those people are covering important basics that should be done first before you worry about increasing the boost.

Once you have proper monitoring (boost, egt, a/f if possible but not necessary if you're getting the car professionally tuned and not changing the boost on your own) and a grounding kit, I'd look at that rubber clutch line and consider going with the SS one.

Then I'd look at buying a turbo-back exhaust of your choice and taking it to a renown tuner who can do ECU tuning for you before the exhaust is installed, then install the exhaust and re-tune.

That's only about 5 mods but they are how I would approach modding the Evo.

the grounding kit is absolutely USELESS. Ask Vishnu, Al, Pruven, Ultimate Racing, Buschur, and any of the big tuners that have a clue whether they use these kits or not.

Theres a reason why no one as yet to produce a dyno chart confirming the performance increase realized by grounding kits. Because it doesn't exist.

With everything said and done....I agree every mods are good. But this is the mod route I would prefer to do when I get my EVO...

1. A helmet+Racing gloves+racing boots
2. Me
3. Me
4. Me
5. Me
6. Me
7. Me
8. Me
9. Me
10. then perhaps the shift knob.....but on second thought......I think I will with Me

But seriously though, I think a good driver makes a world of difference. I believe a driver with exceptional driving skills driving a mediocre car can still be faster than many driving high performance cars. Many of the average drivers never get to use 50% of their cars potential.
The age-old saying, "high performance car, low performance driver".......just my 2 cents.

Uhm grounding kits aren't for hp/tq, you newb, they're for improved grounding, hence the name. They can help improve things like responsiveness, or so we are told. Either way the benefits they offer are not something to be measured by a dynamometer.
