srt engine swap?
ok so check this out. ive had this weird little idea in the back of my had for a few weeks now. and from al the info i have gathered it actually seems possible. a 2002 lancer Es with a neon srt-4 engine swap! i mean Mitsu. is like a subsidary of dodge here in america. and im about 80% sure that the lancer engine is also in the base neon.. Ad all of my friends that know cars think it might possibly work. and i see it as the engine bolting right up but the tranny might need to be worked a little. but the whole reason for this topic is to get input from you guys on what you think and if you know for sure this wouldnt work. Cause i have yet to find a reason as to why it wouldnt work. but can yu imagine an srt-lancer

Where theres a welder, theres a way. Basically you need a SRT4 that was wrecked in the rear and to start by putting in motor and tranny, then comp and wiring. I have done swaps where instead of splicing wires we have actually ran everything from the new harness including taillights. I hope you have like a month and can get a wrecked SRT cheap.

Technically, Mitsubishi isn't a subsidiary. They are their own company, but "strategic partners" to quote Daimler-Benz. DB only owns a certain % of stock, they don't actually own the company. Sorry to nitpick.

why not a viper srt-10 engine? huh huh huh!!!
lmao j/k
i think it'd be OK, but why not just do the 4g63T engine/tranny...theres plenty of wrecked 2g dsms that u could buy off of...even if not entirely together for every ONE srt...there is 10 DSMs lmao. just curious as to why u'd pick the elusive SRT-4 engine over the dime a dozen 4g63T engine....unless i am missing something here.
but u can always get a b16 engine...=)

Nope, the 2.4 litre will not work, its orientation is incorrect for the Lancer. (The intake is on the front of the block) The Lancer engine does not come in any Neon.
Like someone said, if theres a welder, there is a way. Good luck on your findings.

Yes, the SRT uses Mitsu's TC to cut cost down.
