If you have a full exhaust there is no reason for an open WG dump except the noise.

^^^wrong answer........the dump pipe is for the waste gate to dump the exhaust straight out instead of recirculating to the exhaust downpipe. A lot of guys use it for accurate boost or to eliminate boost creep.

The open dump will make the turbo spool faster and make more and far as helping the boost creep there are some open dumps on the market that will actually make it worse due to the small hole were the waste flapper is.The rec.dump will make less power and the turbo will spool slower due to the extra exhaust gases getting pushed back into the system..my vote is the dump shear fab makes the absolute best one on the market hands down..

i would like to say i have an jm fab o2 dump, on my stock turbo, and i must say the turbo spools up so quickly, and it also helps release heat from the head any other question ask someone who has the part your interested in.

An external dump has no benefit what so ever on most setups as long as you have a properly designed o2 housing/recirculated o2 elim downpipe.

scoopevo, does your JM Fab piece constantly set off your check engine light or no problems? Mileage? Heard so many stories (non jm fab, their work is top notch) about dumps leaking and not remaining closed fully, therefore setting off the SES light.

the idea behind the dump is to help control boost creep, spool the turbo faster, and eliminate turbulance in the exhaust stream. however everyone has there own opinion so take it all with a grain of salt, research and decide if you want/can handle the noise.
