Right but you didn't have a failure.
So that basically puts him above $6000 for all new oiling system and install on that because even if he doesn't need a new block whatever failure he had will results in small chips etc in the oil system.
This is assuming his head/turbo are fine as well.
Its really all just speculation until he knows the extent of his damage.

Look like a good deal. That quote didn't mention any head work. When a piston chunks you're at least looking at some welding, perhaps new valves, etc. If pieces went out through the turbo then that could be damaged.
I haven't seen a build yet that didn't have a surprise and end up going over the first estimate.

Hi there guys,
this my first thread , in the last couple years I used to read only but now it is time came to ask Qs and take experiances from you guys what I call them (Experts)
the Sad Story
My Evo X engine is almost dead cuz of overheatin, i was running 1.8 bar racing with a lamborghini Gallardo that night and after done with race my freind in the back saying that a heavy white smoke is coming out from the cat-backs. so i took the car to the garage today and dicovered that the forth piston is lack of pressure. the engine will be opened for the first time, so i will change the pistons and the connecting rods only, and leave the stock crank as it is.
so i need a good spec from you guy to start this project to deliver a 500-550 WHP range. My current setup is :
HKS Hi-Power Exaust system
Custom intake system
Tuned (POS)
and the rest are tottaly stock
MY budget is around $5500
so what are your recommendations guys ??
