Will 4b11t benefit from F1 moving to 1.6L turbo?

FIA has officially enacted new rules for F1 that require all teams to run a new turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder 12,000 rpm engine design by 2013. I'm sure it will take a few years, but eventually I believe we will benefit from this. Rumor is, high-pressure gasoline injectors will feed the combustion chamber at up to 7,251 psi. Holy ****! Say goodbye to turbo lag.

The 4B11T is already designed so no, future F1 technology will not benefit an already existing engine. There are already other direct-injection turbo engines on the market though.

Oh, ok. I guess we will never benefit from anything F1 does. Good to know.

I want one!!! lol. That's really cool, 4 cylinders FTW!!! Want to see what they run for a turbo, IHI I am guessing. Lets see what they come up with, I think we might be able to steal a couple tricks from them. Just because its new technology doesn't mean you can't apply it to old designs, look at nascar...corroborated push rod V8 that spins to 10000rpm!

Will what's learned in F1 eventually trickle down to production cars? Sure it will, but you specifically mentioned the 4B11T, not all production cars nor even future Evolution models.
