Mounting Hallman MBC

New to my evo and also new to this forum. Just out of curiosity has anyone tried mounting their Hallman unit in the cigarette lighter? I have yet to purchase it so I'm not sure how the fitment will be but just curious.

thanks

I have my hallman MBC in my cigerette lighter in my '97 GST. If you'd like a photo of that I could see if I can get one for you. I just used longer vacuum lines instead of spending $70 on the In cabin controller add-on.

the only problem with that is you want to keep the vacuum lines as short as possible for the most precise boost control. the longer the lines, the less accurate

how much line is too much? Has anyone had a bad experience with the in-cabin unit due to the added length of vacuum line?

There is no defined amount of line that is too much. The shorter the lines, the better though...

the in-cabin unit is made so you can run short vac lines and still have the in cabin boost control luxury. it uses a knob on a wire to remotely adjust the boost controller unit (thats the best i can explain it)

what you dont want to do is take a boost controller that belongs in the engine bay, and use it in your cabin, then you would have to have lots of vac line ran to make that work
