If all you have is $300 I would look at the for sale section and get something used. Not even guaranteed to get a decent used intercooler for that.

Just save up a little longer. Some of the cheapest quality ic's i have seen in the for sale section sell for about 500 dollars, but if you don't care and I think you should check eBay.

ETS core ftw! they're about 400$ and have been proven to be great intercoolers.

+1 keep the stocker untill you can buy a decent core. No sense in throwing away cash on a worthless FMIC even if it looks prettier than stock

I am always amused when this question is posed... Cheap and owning an Evo... The two just simply do not go together...

How did that quote go? Cheap and fast not reliable, reliable and cheap not fast and so on?

What is the stock ic good for in terms of hp anyways? Could throw $300 towards something more worth while. Can get a stencil and $2 spray paint make it look like the real thing.

I'm still looking for an eBay stencil.

+1 save your pennies. Extra money and wait time is worth while for quality parts.
