that is so true man, a car like an evo is dangerous bone stock. i probably won't tune mine too severe anyways. i'm getting one built but the guy has started asking if i wanted to mod it before he was done. i'm getting mine cause they're great on dirt and snow.

u want my advice on how much horsepower is too much for a DD, go take yourself a driving class with your car and learn how it drives reacts in braking turning, accelerating etc...that way when your beast is finally 400hp or more( which is most peoples goals on here) we wont hear about ya on the news about a ricer crashing hahah im kidding but seriously to some stock hp is more then enough, me personally im jockin 385, 400 on a cold night, plenty of power but u gotta know when to pull ur right foot out of it and say enough

Honestly anything more then 500 whp is pointless common how many cars make this daily???Not many I can tell you that I'm close to 550 whp at 29.5 and I tuned the boost down to* to 530 whp more then plenty.

Its torque not horsepower. Thrust (torque) overwhelms the tires and its all over. On big sticky tires you can put down around 280 ft lbs per axle and maintain traction still. My 265 street tires seem to like to spin past 500 total (250 per axle).
That being said I run around 700-710 most days and it works very well for me.

for a dd i would say going over 400+ is a no no .....that's too much gas to buy and also think of it most reg cars on the roads today comes wiht a hp rang of 2o0 to 350.....talking about none modified cars here unlike ours

An Evo even in stock form has plenty of power to get in trouble with. I highly recommend taking some high performance driving classes and learning how the car reacts in various situations. As others have said with regards to hp, it's more about the driver than the car.
