2008 Evo X Powertrain Warranty help
Hello everyone,
I just made the jump from a WRX to a 2008 Evo X GSR. I was hoping someone could help me with a question I have regarding the status of my powertrain warranty. The car is approximately 26 months old and has about 17,000 miles on it. When I bought the car the salesman was telling me that the 3 yr/ 36K bumper-to-bumper warranty transfers to the second owner, but the 5yr/60K powertrain warranty does not. He was of course trying to sell me an extended warranty at the time. I figured he was making something up because I couldn't find anything in the warranty booklet that said that. I still have time to purchase the extended warranty, so I wanted to know if there is any way he was telling the truth about the powertrain warranty not transferring to the second owner? I tried to search, but I could not find an exact answer.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.

So I called Mitsubishi and after giving them my VIN and explaining that I am the second owner, they still said that I do have 5yr/60K powertrain warranty. Has anyone purchased a used 08 and kept the powertrain warranty?

Well now I know never to do business with that dealer again. I am seriously considering brining a tape recorder with me next time I buy a car. Not sure what good it would do me, but it would be funny to play back all of the lies these guys will tell you.
Thanks so much for the help guys!
