You'll want to also get a downpipe and testpipe/HFC.

Downpipe is probably a bigger restriction than the stock catback exhaust.

As far as power gains from o2 housing goes, didn't Buschur do some back to back testing and show that the gains were negligible?

Also, Ill throw my vote for external dumps are annoying as hell and sound terrible :P.

If your tight on money don't worry about an 02 housing now...just get a TBE, which includes downpipe, test pipe or high flow cat and a cat back exhaust...

Its also gonna be highly dependent on the turbo and how hard its being pushed. A stock turbo that's struggling to keep boost up will be trying to keep the WG closed working the dump much less than say a Black at 25psi where it needs to by-pass much more exhaust energy.

True...I've run an 02 dump on 3 different turbos, stock IX, FP Red (Surge Cover), and BBK Full...and I will soon be running a BBK-B with a Toxicfab dump...Every turbo I have had a dump worked well for my setup...never had creep issues, hit boost quick and held boost well...every car is different, tunes are different, etc...

okay so forgive me but I am a little confused here. you have a TBE that you jut purchased or you only have a cat back?

have a lot of personal opinions but want to get everything straight before i throw my 2 cents in there.

if you have a CBE, getting a DP will help you with a hfc or a test pipe and the 02 housing is a different issue with a different install process. if you still need a DP to go with your exhaust, then the MAP 02 eliminator would be another great option.

i too dont want to turn this thread into a dump vs 02 housing comparison, but there are advantages to both, it just depends on your mods, your tune, your goals for the car, noise level that is tolerable, turbo selection etc.
