External wastegate information

About to put an external wastegate on the car. About to buy a tial 40mm wastegate for it, And muse motorsports piping. But before I did that I was just going to ask if anyone knew the quality of these pieces, and if they would recommend me to a different brand, or if these are alright.
Also you guys who had your external wastegates put on, how much did you guys pay for parts and labor?

Thanks, Chase

That's the piping. What size wastegate will I be needing? I'm at 24psi if Thats a factor
The car is nearly stock, has aftermarket upper and lower intercooler piping, 10.5 hotside, fuel pump, with a tune. Would it be nessacary for another tune after this?

Are you asking about the quality of the Muse dump or external wastegates in general?

Muse products have a lifetime warranty against defects and are made of 100% 304 grade stainless steel. Not much to worry about there

The o2 dump also includes the 3d radiused flange to help exhaust gasses flow more smoothly.

What is the reason for going this particular route anyway? Why external? I just want to know what you hope to gain here.

How much does this mod end up costing you total(parts and labor)? What is the potential power gain that you hope to realize by doing this anyway? I want to know how many horsies you'll be getting for how may dollars.

I'm not doing it out of expectations for a power gain, mostly for the preferred sound. And hopefully bump me up a couple horsepower. So far it's about $600 in parts. $200 in labor. Depends on if I need a retune. I was hoping others that have done this would chime in

$800 just for the sound? $240 and you'll have the same sound, performance and you retain your twin scroll setup unlike your external wg setup.

You're doing it the hard way lol.

If you were to do a VTA O2 dump like the one pictured in the post above then you would get the sound you're after. A post-turbine housing remote gate, on the other hand is a lot more expense and work for marginal gain, especially at the relatively low boost levels that you plan to run.

You'll loose the benefits of the twin-scroll design, as VRSF Tiago pointed out, unless you go to a whole lot of work as Revmoto did. This involves a lot of welding and fabrication.

There really hasn't been any definitive, comparative testing done between a traditional O2 dump and a 16G configured with a remote gate sourced off the turbine housing's bypass port.

VRSF Tiago, what's the easy way that only costs $240 to retain the same sound and still have the benefits of the twin scroll?

Alright let me make sure I understand this correctly. With the piping you posted above, that's all I will need for the dump? Maybe what my understanding of an u2 dump before wasn't right. Lol

The solution provided above is exactly what you'd need.

You're thinking of an external wastegate o2 dump which isn't required on any of the stock frame turbos.
