New Evo Owner
I just wanted to say hi after buying my Evo two weeks ago. It's an '06 AS Evo IX MR with SE package. I've been hooked ever since I drove my friend's '03 LY SSL. A long time ago, I used to have a '94 Eclipse GSX, so this isn't my first DSM .
I looked around the For Sale forums here and looked at a few of them, but I found this one at a used car dealership through craigslist. I know I overpaid compared to a private sale, but it was in really great condition with only 43k miles and all stock except for the stereo and K&N style air filter.
I'm looking to do some mods soon and have been reading tons of threads online. I've bought some simple appearance mods (s2000 antenna, PIAA Plasma Yellow fogs, Blox shift knob, JDM amber side markers, UK badges), but nothing performance related yet.
I'm not sure about the maintenance history, so I'm planning on changing all the fluids to start off. I'm not sure what else I should probably do, but I guess I could probably check out the recommended service intervals in the owner's manual.
I'm really interested in getting a tactrix cable and learning to tune, but I read that it won't really be useful until I get a wideband o2. I'm thinking of getting a TBE (hopefully somewhat quiet without drone) to start off with. I'm also looking to get shifter bushings (under hood and base) to firm up the shifting a little bit. I'm not really sure what direction I should go after that, but I'm thinking gauges, MBC and fuel pump.
The main problem is that I'm living in a 1 BR condo, so I don't really have the tools or garage space to do the work myself. Anyone have any recommendations for a good evo tuning shop in the Northern VA area that can handle my maintenance and upgrade labor? I went to Mach V years ago with my 1G, but it's a little bit of a drive for me now.
I'm just happy to be driving an Evo again
