Is there a car between Evo X and GTR?

I would say no.
The GTR is basically an Evo on steroids and then some.
AWD, F/I, high tech, DSG tranny, etc. Similar to the Evo, just all around better.
I wouldn't really say a Mustang or BMW or Audi is really comparable, if those things I mentioned above are priorties in buying a car.
I know my next car will be a GTR.

^yes but its not really the same type of car; I'm under the impression the OP meant cars that are very similar.
The GTR and Evo both have one thing in mind, a performance monster for price with all the features to allow its use on a daily basis.
They are very similar cars, although both relevant to their price tags. Evo-$40k, great performance for price, OK interior, AWD, F/I, and a few minor luxury items. GTR-$95k amazing bang for buck, compared to other cars it peforms with(similar to the Evo), just you get a more upscale design interior, unique exterior, much more powerful engine, brakes/suspension, etc. Which is why I said its like an Evo on steriods.
Both are F/I AWD monsters that focus on one thing mainly and that is all around performance, whic adding in a few things that make them tolerable for daily driving.
The CTS-V/IS-F, M3, and C63 are all cars in their own class and I wouldn't say are desirable for many Evo owners who are into modding and all out performance, which is why many of us seek the GTR in the future.

Corvette (base, GS or Z06), M3, ISF, S5, 335 i/xi, XF (supercharged or the R model) , only cause no one else mentioned it and I work for Jaguar. 2011's have free brakes and maintenance just like the BMW's.
