The rpw headers do so called "rust over" but that is just a discoloration from the heat. They can be coated with the Jet hot coating I think it's called for an extra 100. I didn't get the coating but I hear it keeps down on under hood temperatures so you would get colder air to your intake if you have a short ram.

I have CAI so doesn't affect me as much.

As usual I am the one with the DYNO in my registry. I did not have the CAI at that time and once I get my exhaust finished I will have a final dyno. Some people say CAI takes away gains, others say it depends on mods so to find out for myself I am going to dyno and be finished with it.

I forgot to say not to sound like an add but they can be coated at any time so if you choose to do it in the future just take them off and send them in. Contact Vision imports to be sure. I don't plan on having it done.

In regards to the RPW header rusting/corroding, mine have done nothing but discolor over a year's time in the rainy NW.

all headers remove the 1st cat.

that is where most of the performance comes from.

the 1st cat is built into the exhaust manifold... any setup w/ or w/o a downpipe is going to eliminate the cat.

if you're looking to go turbo, go with the rrm header. it's pretty expensive, but think of the money you lose if you buy headers then have to sell them again cause they're not compatable w/ ur kit. this is the reason i'm not getting an intake. on top of that, you'll have to change back to your stock exhaust manifold when u go turbo if you don't go w/ rrm

if you're looking to stay n/a, get the kamikaze. omg... i noticed some huge pulls at the 3500+ range... drop to 3rd and push it to redline on the freeway... it's massive. the sound is amazing too... just this w/ no other mods produced some nice results. unfortinuately i decided to not stay n/a so i traded for the rrm header. i can honestly tell you that the kamikaze is a great way to go from experience

the only thing i didn't like about the kamikaze was that it was all black... but you can get it in chrome or ceramic if you want either. i would recommend ceramic for the durability and looks side of it all.

about the other 2 headers.. not sure i would trust obx. go w/ something a bit more proven. rpw is great tho.. heard nothing but good things. also, if it has a header and a downpipe it's most likely straight through, so gains will be extremely similar (if not the same). i'm thinking that you should go w/ the cheapest header+dp setup in this case (which is most likely kamikaze.. i didn't research much before i bought it).

so a recap: turbo? go rrm. n/a? go kamikaze (imo anyway, haha)

also if you have the cash to throw around, you can buy full magnaflow catbacks for $305 shipped.. i wish i could but i'm *** broke. run a search and you'll find a group buy that turned into an all out gb-free sale!

Other turbo options outside of RRM will give you a turbo manifold so you won't be going back to your stock manifold either way. I agree that if you're going to turbo w/ RRM, go with their header. But if you're going turbo with RPW, for example, just skip the entire header phase completely until you get the turbo and the turbo manifold.

I got my RPW header in a couple weeks ago, sent it down to Jet-Hot Coatings, they coated it with their famous Sterling Silver coating. It should be arriving today actually! When it gets here I will take mad pix and post them. Im expecting pretty good gains from this header from what i've heard. Plus it is Jet-Hot'ed so its gonna help keep temp down, better/smoother airflow because it is coated on inside AND out, plus it wont rust, and Jet-Hot has 3 year warrentee! YAY! im psyched.
