Finally got my Evo - 2006 IX SE Tarmac Black

So my brother had to take his built 402 supercharged Z06 back to Dallas performance to work out some kinks in the tune, and the owner let us take his truck over to Vernon, Tx which I think has a population of about 12 people. There's a big *** Ford dealership there where I found this car. it's a 2006 TB Evo IX SE, 44k miles and completely stock from what I can see. Exhaust was untouched, radiator fins were undamaged around turbo, and the suspension looked unmolested. There are a few interior things like drilled holes in the pocket under the A/C controls, and there was a GPS mounted on the dash because the cord is still there between the A-Pillar and dash, but I dont think it was "modded"

I was skeptical of the car until I drove it, holy **** I was in love. Never driven or even sat in an Evo before, but after that drive I knew this car was for me. I assumed they were slower in stock form too

well here are some pics

The car is not perfect, the BBS's have some curb rash, but they won't be my primary wheels so that was not a deal-breaker, and the tires on there are stupid small - 215/40/17. There is a bend at the bottom of the door about an inch long where it looks like someone closed the door and something was in the way, but the paint is not damaged, so I think a body shop can easily roll it back to flush. The paint is swirled, but that's to be expected on a 5 year old car - I'll just try and work my magic on it with the Porter Cable... No door dings and the wing is still clear-coated fine, along with the brembos. Every panel had a VIN except the passenger side front fender, but the fitment is perfect on it

A rollin' pic on the way home from Dallas

I'm just glad to finally be back in the game, and I cannot wait to start getting parts for this. Suspension, wheels, JDM rear bumper and red tailights, Toxicfab manifold, o2 dump, some kind of free-flowing exhaust and engine look-good parts are among the first to be done

Nice pick-up. Those little tires make the 17's look really big

44k miles is fairly low for a 9. Nice clean car!

Washed and Waxed the car with the cheap wax - once I get to Kansas and I have my garage, I'll buff the car, debadge it and use the expensive wax:

lol The tires are way too small. Debadge everything from the rear and give it a nice drop on Swifts!

If you have no plans on tracking, strut/spring combination is best for streets imo unless you want to cough up the cash for some KW's or Ohlins cause you're ballin as all hell.

I'm definitely not ballin' but I love coilovers for the adjustability... if it's too low or too high I can change it up a bit. plus I like the look of coilovers, but I'll think about it
