Does this Evo look familiar?
http://www.cosmomotorsonline.com/det...d-8158116.html
Anyone reconize this Evo?
I'm currently just browsing, but what do you guys think? Cosmo is a very known dealership for Evos from what I hear, in the NC area. And I'm pretty sure Kasey (member on the forums) looks over most of the Evos sold by Cosmo.
I'd have to see documentation on the engine, and transmission work. Some might be hesitant on buying a Evo like this, but maybe the owner want a little more hp, and a Shep tranny to back it up. But again, I'd have to see documentation and look the car over before making any rational decisions.
From what I can see it has exhaust, UICP, it's lowered, intake, front strut tower brace. The exhaust manifold heat shield has been removed.
Opinions?

It says engine was rebuilt with forged pistons and bored .20 over. Maybe it's just me wanting to buy something that will take a little more power than a stock block evo.
They also have a '04 TB VIII for sale with 23,XXX miles for $22,997. But I'll make a choice when the time comes after I get back from this deployment.

pass on that one unless you find out who owned it and talk to them for a while about why it has a rebuilt motor and trans. seeing that it still has some bolt ons and painted wheels and the heat shield is missing from the exhaust manifold it probably had a bigger turbo on the stock motor and trans and blew up. thats what i would be thinking if i was looking at it anyway. on the other hand, if you do find the previous owner and find out it has a properly built fresh 2.4 and a shep trans then power to you

If you can Jew them Down on the price it might be worth it, but IMO that's a lot for an viii with 100k+ miles. Even with built stuff. I bought an 05 viii for 12k with 95,000 and had the tranny rebuild done by shep and plan on freshening the motor soon. I'd rather do the stuff myself that way u know what's going on..... I know how it is though u get antsy and tired of passing up on cars lol.

KBB is 17,000 on it. But I know what you mean. I have been lurking around and watching Evos come and go since June of last year. Hopefully the right deal pops up when I return from Afghan, and I hope it's from someone on this forum.

Yeah...you guys talked me out of it pretty easy. I'm just trying to do this right the first time. I'll probably just end up waiting for someone reputable on the forums to sell.
