NC is the same way when you buy a car. It doesn't matter if the car is burned to the ground, they tax you on what price they have designated for the car. It's ridiculous.

If you want a 03/04 go for it. They make power really easily and they're sexy lol. I'm still deciding if I want an Evo or 03/04 Cobra next. Coming from a GT, I'm leaning more towards the Cobra but the insurance on them is insane. They can also make 500whp with simple things, exhaust intake, port, pulleys (upper and lower) then fuel and the rest of the bolt ons. They also handle pretty well thanks to the IRS. But that's also a problem for them lol. If you want to drag the car, the IRS can hold you back from a good launch. You will need to upgrade it to decrease wheel hop also.

Texas loves taxing us on anything they can. We might not have to pay a state tax on our taxes, but they find ways to make up for that.

I'm getting tired of paying high registration/inspection fees and then having to drive on these tore up roads that are beating up my car.

You know why Texas has so many truck owners? Its cause they make it impossible to drive a smaller car on these roads.

The insurance was about the same for the cobra as the evo? I was hoping it wouldn't be much worse.

And yeah I want to keep the cobra IRS inside of putting a straight axle in, I don't plan on dragging the car every week I have another car for that.

Ive had so many different evos, the insurance price changes for each one. But the Cobra definitely falls into the same price group. At least for me it did.

Really? That's good to hear. I'd be 18/19 when I go to buy a Cobra or Evo so it's going to naturally be high but looking on here at the insurance thread, they're lower than what a Cobra would be for me.
