New EVO IX owner, saying hi
I've been looking for a long time and finally found an EVO that a.) wasn't modded to hell and back, b.) had a cool owner who would *actually* sell me the car (two sellers backed out at the last minute, one I backed out on due to lack of funds several years ago), and c.) was within driving distance - 300 miles away.
So, here she is, just washed up:

I've got a little bit of work to do - needs a timing belt/water pump soon, and I'm going to change all of the diff/trans fluids at that point as well. It was basically a highway cruiser for the previous owner. It's still on the stock clutch at 70K miles and grabs really well from what I've been able to tell so far. Still, I know I don't have a ton of time left on it. It came with basic boltons only - intake, hard IC pipes, 3" TBE, MBC and a tune that dyno'd 330 whp at 23.5 psi.
I just installed a decent CD player and swapped the gauges and radio mount this morning and moved the boost gauge over to the first pod. I've only opened her up once but my god is this a fun car. It's replacing a Mazdaspeed3, for what it's worth.
So yea, that's my story, I've found a metric ton of info on here already so just wanted to say thank you and I look forward to learning even more!

Oh yea, almost forgot - before anyone says "Paint that hood." Save your breath, it's not getting painted Also, yesterday I started the fun process of removing some of those rust-covered bolts, retapped the holes they go into, and anti-siezed them. I love doing that kind of little crap, lol.
