U paid $250 to carmax to get it shipped? Where is the car from? I bought my stock evo from carmax as well but I didn't pay any transportation fees.

Either way, welcome to the club!

Yea they charge anywhere from 250-750 to transfer from out of state. Mine came from Louisiana, so on the cheaper side since its only a 8 hour drive. Glad to be part of the evo club. The color looks amazing in person.

Mine was shipped from Cali but the car is originally from Texas or something like that. But I still didn't pay any transport fees. Either way, great ride!

Modding or waiting for it to be paid off?

Only doing basic bolt ons for now. Turbo back exhaust, wideband and boost gauges, hard intercooler piping, intake, maybe a new bov, and a tune. Hopefully that should only be about 1.5k or so. Is there a 3rd gauge anyone would reccomend? Once I pay more of it off then I can go crazy lol

Great buy.

You will need a cobb app before you can get a protune they are about 600 from cobb but 400 if you shop in the for sale privet seller section.
Cobb is really good i went to the one in Austin when I was on leave they checked the car over did a boost test all before they started the tune.
A good 3rd guage would be oil temp since the oil is used to help cool the turbo or to see if the oil cooler is doing it's job.

Welcome to the family.

Again congrats. Great find. Awesome color. I wish I had bought my Evo back in 2010 so I could have got a new RG. I wonder why Mitsu only made them for that one year? I guess to **** off people like me

What kind of turbo back exhaust u looking at, the cheapest brand new TBE is around $900, I got mine cheap coz I was scouring the for sale section. Gauges, are around 125-150. Pipings r around 250-350, new BOV is around 300. Afr and boost gauge r the only ones that really matters...except when ur going all out race car. Cobb access port is a great start and I'm pretty sure ur gonna get an intake as well. All those mods will take u up to 2k, over 2k if ur not gonna install them ur self.

Lots of reading here and other forums about the X would be money savings for u since there's a lot of how to install all the bolt ons which means u don't have to pay someone else that could go into ur mods. TBE install could run u anywhere 200 up to 400 coz the stock o2 housing is a pain to get off.
