Ex-STi owner crossing over to the dark side!

Hello everybody! Yep, got tired of pouring insane amounts of money into my STi and receiving small hp/tq gains. It's time to move on over to the EVO where the real performance is! I'm currently in the process of trying to find a white Evo IX MR. So if you know of one in good condition with low miles let me know!

I'm definitely looking forward to working with the 4g63!! The first mods I'm looking to do are FPRed w/supporting mods, GSC S2 cams, TBE, Exedy Twin-Plate clutch, EBCS. Any input would be great as I'm new to the Evo! But in the meantime...it's time to dig deep through all of these build threads and how-to's!

But before I take off....a little about my built STi that I sold in February (I figured a few of you would be curious as to what was done to it) :

Yeah pics please.

Can I ask why you want an MR if you plan to build it so heavily?

There are no bug eye STi's only bug eye WRX's. The first STi in the US was a 2004 model and were peanut eye. 2006-2007 are hawk eye.

Sorry about that haha, guess I should have included the year...it was a Platinum Silver Metallic 2004, AKA blob-eye or peanut eye.

LMAO @ new Toyota looking things! I couldn't agree more. I was only really ever a fan of the 2004-2005 STi. Of course the 2003 bugeye WRX is what got me started on Subarus though. I used to stay up late as hell watching WRC coverage on SPEED channel and that's what drove me to purchase one.

Kreeker - Like I said I'm new to Evos...I just like how the MR interior is so much nicer than any of the other models (as far as I know) And it comes with BBS wheels. What would you suggest and why?

Also, a few pics as requested:

If you're building a car i'd highly reccomend avoiding the MR. I'd look for a nice SE. Its the same as a MR virtually but without the crappy 6 speed tranny.

So...the six speed tranny is weaker than the five speed in the Evo? It's the opposite on the Subaru side...the five speed is like glass and the six is quite strong.

Yes. The Six speed is a 5 speed with an extra gear. Same housing, same room, cooling and other factors as you can reasonably assume make it weaker.

Why are we the dark side? You guys are the ones with the wacky engine.
