New Evo Owner!
Hi All,
Saturday I bought a 2010 Octane Blue SE w/ 23k (stock). Have been reading through a lot of topics trying to educate myself quickly on the vehicle. Let me first start by saying that I love the car. I have owned everything from a 90 civic hatchback with b16 engine swap to a '98 stage 3 dinan M3, and most recently an F-150.
So how I got to the Evo has been interesting. Started looking for a new-er vehicle a couple months back. Found out the new Focus ST was coming out and somehow became fixated on that car. Ended up special ordering one and putting $500 down last month. So technically I had it all figured out (that car is being built this week ). While waiting I started looking at other cars. Always loved Evo's but never took the thought too seriously. Then started looking at Evo's in my area...Finally on a Whim, found this beautiful 2010 SE at a Volvo/VW Dealer as a trade-in. Test drove friday and went back saturday morning- drove home a few hours later
Sooo...going to Ford today to get back my $500...someone will be happy with a nice 2013 oxford white ST3. But me, I needed a bit more.
I will get pictures up later. For those SE guys wondering, I think mine is 192- at leas there is a little silver tag on the key ring that says 30192.
Planning on keeping stock for a while. Hoping the SST doesn't offer too many issues. Going to take it in for the 30k service at 25k...just for peace of mind.
any tips or advice?
Thanks

yeah they are hitting dealers as we speak...the irony is I actually passed one driving the evo home from the dealer. I did drive an ST1 (base) a month or so back- a dealer got one in real early. Was very nice. they are solid little cars and should be quick- especially based off the latest road and track comparison where it whooped up on the GTI and MS3.

Hey, Welcome!
I just got a 2012 rally red GSR with the handling pack. Its a canadian edition. Traded in my 09 cbr600rr first for a 2010 Ralliart with 40K, and while waiting for the dealer to fix the windshield and get it ready as it was a trade in, I also started doing some research.
Basically I came to a conclusion that knowing that I could have got an Evo I would never be happy with the ralliart
Super happy with it and I owned 300hp 1g, 500hp 2g dsm, and a slower then everything else on the road 240sx. This is by far my fav car so far. I'm going to keep it stock for the 1st year, just to iron out any warranty issues if they arise.
Cheers!
I need advice/tips as well even though I've been reading like a mad man.

Congrats on the new Evo man!! I used to have a Phantom Black SE. Just so you know the 30192 probly isnt your number. Its probly the number for if you have to get your key replaced. When I got mine it was new and Mitsu sent a letter with a keychain which had my number on it. and as far as i kno unless your the original owner Mitsu wont tell you what number you are..

Welcome. I also have a '10 SE in Octane Blue. It's the rarest of the SEs...only 54 were made in Octane Blue, and I know of at least 1 that's been totalled. There is an SE owner's thread just below this one.

sweet deal...rare is cool I just got a call from the dealer- the previous and only other owner dropped off the SE numbered keychain! so I will be heading in to pick it up. I think it is 257.
On another note, I just posted a thread about the K&N drop in filter- any experience with drop in filter fitment?
Also had my first (and hopefully only) mis shift with the paddles...scared the **** outa me...such a mental block woozy floozy maneuver

Nice.
Between here and the other main Evo X forum we know of 107 of the 340, with a bunch more that are unconfirmed (19). Highest number I know of is 311 (a Wicked Wide in California), yours is the 16th Octane Blue that has come up. The numbers are based off of the original date of sale.
