Evo 8 Idle problems

Hello, im having some issues with my idle, any help would be awesome.

When i first start the car the RPMs go up to about 5k. Then drops to 2k and just keeps bouncing from 2K to 3K and wont stop.

Please help me out. Thanks.

You Need more info about the car. What done to it aftermarket parts or stock. Also did you do anything to your car to cause the problems or just started to happen out of no where?

1) Check your vacuum lines
2) Check For your inter-cooler coupling cracked or loose clamp.

Start with those and see if it helps

BTW Use the search bar, it might help you find the answers.

The car just has aftermarket intake, intercooler, and bov.

And im assuming injectors and fuel pump possibly since the car was on e85 when i bought it but it was really low on gas, i filled it up and that's when it started doing it.

If i disconnect the battery the problem goes away but does come back.

Was it tuned after the Intake was installed? I've heard that aftermarket intakes can add idle issues when not tuned. That's just my 2cents

Idle air control valve.Has happened to me.
when warmed up RPM went from 2000-3500 up and down just sitting.

If it was a vacuum leak it would most likely keep a high idle.

Amazon Amazon

I have installed this one, works well.
better than spending the $350 at mitsu.

I dont know if the car was tuned. I just recently got it.

And it does this wether its warmed up or not. The RPMs just keep bouncing from 2k-3k non stop.
