dodgy dealers.

Hey guys.
Recently i bought a evo 6. i would like to ask you all your opinions and what i should do.

i drove from tokyo to osaka which is a 7hour trip. when exceeding over 110km, the steering was shaking and felt unstable. guessing it was just the wheel balance, once i arrived in osaka, i decided to get my wheel re-balanced. now the dudes at the tyre shop found out my car had slip on 8mm spacers and factory wheel nuts which were too big for my aftermarket oz wheels. The also told me that they would not touch my car because they dont want to take any responsibility if the wheel comes off.

so i went to another store, bought some bolt on spacers and proper nuts for the safe drive back.
But i believe the car dealers should take some responsibility. I had to pay for 2pairs of bolt ons and wheels nuts plus labour fees which is about 500usd.

should i/ or can i ask the dealers to pay for the expenses which it cost to fix the problem 7 hours away from home?

Does the car feel better after the quick fix? If so, thats great...and congrats on the new purchase...

Its worth a shot to see if the dealer would be gracious to cover some costs...but I would assume all sales are final. Since you are a few hours away, it would be difficult to visually show them and properly document what was wrong. But, maybe you took pics ;-)

Would love to see the car, post some pics!

I honestly wouldnt bother with the dealership period youd do better trying to find a local shop that knows that car. They are screwing you 500 to check the balance for vibrations on the car.

You paid so much for 8mm spacers and some lug nuts?
Up garage sells 20 lug nuts for under 1200 yen, and I know 20mm spacers are only 10,000yen so 8 mm cant be more than 5000.
Did you go to autobacs??
