YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE a race harness for the street!!! In an accident - your dead! I believe the air bag can only be deployed if your seat belt is connected (correct me if I am wrong). Your stock/OEM seatbelt offers some 'give' when in an accident and it will trigger your air bag, while the race harness offers pretty much nothing (movement, etc.). For racing, that's the idea....For the street? BAD choice! You'll snap your neck and who knows what!
I have a harness. But I do NOT use it when on the street.

Do what makes you happy; but please read the feedback and reasons why we advise against it. It does not matter if the car is stock or a race-car; harnesses should be used with a helmet and head/neck restraint device to keep your head from traveling too far in the event of a sudden impact.
Depending on how you anchor the harness belts, you may be able to retain the OEM seatbelts and that is what I would use for street driving.
