Evo 9 pros and cons

Planning to get a Evo 9 in the coming months hopefully a MR if possible but I am fine with either trim. I did a bit of research on the MR and learned that the transmission is much weaker compared to the 5 speeds. My power goals would be around 300-350AWHP/AWTQ which seems achievable with bolt ons (correct me if I am wrong). I was wondering if the 6 speed tranny would have issues with my power goals in mind. I just want to learn more about the car. Thank You!

Torque is what destroys things. Stay under 375wtq and you'll be fine. Try to find a SE. It's basically has everything a MR has except the crappy 6 speed.

6 speed is fine on a bolt on car. If you want to really build it in the future it does seem more likely to have problems than a 5 speed though.

I put down 305/305 on a mustang dyno. i have a tune(obviously), hfc tbe, spoolin up cop kit, gsc s1 cams, intake, hallman mbc, walbro 255 lph, act xtss, and streetlite flywheel, and a few others. i'd go 5 spd unless you dont mind spending the money to build the 6 spd (which may not be necessary but will be reliable) and t case (less important than trans unless you plan to launch it). Also go to the newbie/general sections and read the new member stickies, theyre very informative
