you guys must put a lot for the down paymebt cuz some of the payments here are pretty low.

This payment caculator must be wrong.

'The payment on your loan request for $24,000.00 is approximately $471.98 * for 60 months.'

you guys have low payments ....I put 5k down and my payments are $1,642.00 per month....only 12 months though. I dont know why anyone would drag payments out to 72 months, if it takes you that long because you have to lower the monthly payments, then you really dont earn enough money to buy an Evolution. General rule is if you cant make payments for 48 months or less then you shouldnt be buying a car in that price bracket.

By the way, I'm not trying to put anyone down by stating the general rule, just thought I would share it. Alot of the people on here seem to be relatively young with new found money. I'm not that old (later 20's), but I made a simliar mistake on my 1999 GST Spyder. Still making payments on a car worth less than 12k with a high interest rate. In the end, the spyder will cost me about 6k more than what I originally "paid" for it.

Sounds like you are rich unlike most of us I would say 60 month instead of 48.

financial advisors recommend 48 months or less on a vehicle. It's basically a rule that they use, kinda like the rule of 72. Take 72 and divide it by your interest rate to see how long (in years) it takes your money to double if you invest it. They have a bunch of rules like that.

i do agree...

i can wholeheartedly admit, i can't afford this car...

i was making 1600/month... and at first, it wasn't hard at all... then they cut my hours, and i was making barely 1000/month... and after insurance, i had pocket change to spare...
now, i'm in an even better position... i just lost my job this weekend.... so now i REALLY can't afford this car...

but i'm going to do what it takes to keep it. it's seriously worth whatever trouble it's caused me.
i'm just going to be severely fu*ked if I can't find a job within 2 weeks.

I pay $526 a month. But I send in $530 a month. When I pay off my credit card bills I'll be sending even more. Truthfully the car is my wife's because I filed bankruptcy, but it was my 350Z that got it. I hope to have it paid off in three years.

This is sound advice, but with Americans saving 2% of their income I highly doubt that most could afford it.

464 a month for 60months, 25000 financed at 4.25% i could pay alot more a month but i can spend it elsewhere and make more on it than the 4.25% I guess there's a number of EVO owners who realize after the purchase that they can't really afford it. lots for sale on ebay..
